I'm specifically addressing the shoe department, which is always chaotic, messy, unorganized, and just a plain disaster. I've never had a good experience trying to buy shoes. They are understaffed, and every time you need a shoe they have to go get it for you, so I usually end up waiting for ten minutes before I can even get help. And if that size doesn't fit, I have to wait again. Sometimes I feel like I have to beg for someone to help me, after being ignored for ten minutes. When I go to check out, it's just as chaotic and unorganized, and it takes way longer than necessary. The employees seem frazzled and clueless. I'm always relieved when the ridiculous experience is over.
I returned some pots and pans that were defective. I had packed the pots and pans when moving from MN back to OR in the original box. I had not looked in the box since packing them. Afraid I may have packed another pot of a different brand in the box I went back to the store a couple weeks later to see if I could look in the box to make sure. Two women who work there, Ann and Alana were SO HELPFUL! Even though Ann was over with her shift he still helped me find the box. It took a while, a couple places to search, but we found the box and thankfully the pot I thought was in there was not (later found when unpacking). The homegoods area at Macy's is awesome with great customer service. Thank you so much!!!
Great service; I was buying a suit and the employee I worked with was very professional. I walked into the suit section, and he immediately gave me my jacket size and pants size just by looking at me. Before I checked out, I decided to get a dress shirt. He immediately gave me the exact measurements I would need, again just by looking. He gave me good estimates for price of the adjustments on my pants. Great service and great stuff.
Last night I spent one and a half hours trying on clothes. I found something I really wanted to wear on Mother's day. I put it on hold to pick up the next day. I went back today, and all the clothes i put on hold were not there. I spoke to the manager in that department, she said sorry, and that it had happened before that someone's hold items were taken. The store is responsible for taking care of customer's items until they are picked up. It made me mad and upset, wondering why I spent time and gas shopping at their store,
A good place to get your basic clothes, but not for everything. Staff is very under payed so they can't provide great customer Service because they don't care. I don't blame them.
