Sean is an amazing employee! Outstanding customer service and very helpful! He really takes care of his customers. We really appreciate him helping us in the kids shoe department along with everything else.
Then on to the Top Shop. Again, no one greeted me or offered to help me. This time there were 2 employee chatting at the check out kiosk. Then on to handbags where... you guessed it! No help. I finally ended in BP where there were not 2 but 3 employees chatting with no customers. With arms full of clothing and no help after waiting at the dressing rooms for a few minutes I put the clothes down and left.
The things they sell are just ok, very overpriced and the quality is just as good as old navy at best. The main problem I have are the employees they are so pretencious. They think that because they work a dead end job at "Nordstrom" their social status automatically rises to the clouds. A little more friendly and humble staff will be greatly appreciated.
I love Nordstrom. I worked there through college and now I love to shop there. It is my go to place for my wardrobe. I was excited to pick out a few new items during the anniversary sale, and I was happy to see that on a Tuesday afternoon the place wasn't busy.
After a wonderful 5 star lunch at the cafe I got to shopping. I started in petites. With arms full of jeans I was surprised to see no one around. I waited at the entry of the dressing rooms until someone asked if I needed help. Not a big deal.
I'm specifically writing about the Brass Plum section. Whenever I've needed an employee's assistance, no one is around. When you ask someone for a fitting room, they'll put a bunch of other clothes in there to try to sell you more. And the clothes they've added to my room are NEVER my style. Their clothes are not good quality. After only a few washes, they get worn out and have holes (and I wash all my shirts in cold water and inside protective bags). Several times I've had BP shirts shrink a full size or two in COLD water (washed as directed). Lastly, so many of their clothes require dry cleaning, which is ridiculous for casual clothing. Not impressed.
Nordstrom has always been my go-to for boots, but after my last experience I will buy my boots (and clothes and makeup) elsewhere. Last Friday afternoon I was waiting in the shoe department for over 10 minutes for someone to help me (after they walked by me several times and ignored me). Finally, I flagged a gentleman down and asked him if he could help me find some wide-calf boots. He immediately said, "we don't carry those." He didn't even offer to help me find the ones I wanted online or anything. (Plus, I have bought my wide-calf boots at this exact Nordstrom for years!) He just quickly said no. I was disheartened by this experience because I love Nordstrom, but I will take my business elsewhere.
Shopping should make you feel good. I was excited to spend my hard earned money on some necessities and some splurges. I didn't buy anything here because I couldn't seem to get anyone to help me on a slow day. I'll definitely come back for lunch, but from now on I'll take my money to the downtown store where I can at least get a fitting room.
